Since the 1st of October, 2013 it has been employer’s responsibility to provide first aiders in the workplace. All organisations must ensure by law that they have a sufficient number of employees who possess a first-aid qualification to fulfil their first-aid needs at all times. Employers must ensure that their provision is ‘adequate and appropriate in the circumstances.
AOSH UK First Aid Qualifications have been produced in guidelines with Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Skills for Health and In line with the latest developments in practice. AOSH UK qualifications are designed to equip individuals to manage medical situations and provision in the workplace.
Who needs this qualification?
This qualification is designed to provide learners with the first aid skills they require when working in an environment with children. The Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid is suitable for learners who are responsible for children. Learners will become familiar and react according to an emergency situation with a child or infant.
How long will it take?
Delivery would typically be through a 2-day training course (16 hours).
Course overview
Over a 2 day period, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations, including: assessing an emergency situation, dealing with an unresponsive infant or child, CPR, choking, meningitis, head and spinal injuries, anaphylaxis, asthma and more.
